Privacy Policy for ShakeTorch
Effective date: October 6, 2026
ShakeTorch ("the app") is published by Bruce Burge.
Data collection
The app collects, stores, and transmits no personal data and no usage
data. There are no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no accounts, and no
network requests of any kind. The app works fully offline.
Permissions and how they are used
- Camera: used solely to toggle the phone's camera
flash (torch) when you shake the phone or tap the manual power button. No
photos or video are ever captured, viewed, stored, or transmitted.
- Foreground service: keeps shake detection running in
the background.
- Notifications: shows the persistent "service running"
notification required for the foreground service.
- Boot completed: restarts shake detection after the
phone reboots.
- Wake lock: keeps the accelerometer delivering events
while the screen is off.
- Proximity sensor: used on-device to ignore shakes
while the phone is in your pocket. Sensor data never leaves the
device.
